Why is my Wagner Spray gun not spraying?
When your Wagner paint sprayer won’t prime there are a few solutions to the problem. It is entirely possible that the priming or spraying valve is clogged with old material and gunk. If it’s not the prime or sprayer valve, it could be either the outlet or inlet valves. These can be unblocked by using the filter tab.
How do you unclog a Lysol spray can?
Apply an aerosol lubricant to the clogged nozzle. Remove the nozzle from the can of aerosol lubricant and replace it with the clogged spray paint nozzle. Press down on the nozzle to force the aerosol lubricant through it. Repeat until the clog is cleared.
Why is no paint coming out of my spray gun?
If your paint gun is not spraying paint at all, it’s most likely due to a clog either in the air vent hole or the hose. Clean any dried paint with a toothpick, and use a cleaning solvent to clear any remaining gunk. If you’ve cleaned your paint gun and find that it still isn’t spraying, take a look at the air supply.

Spray guns spit when air is being introduced into the fluid outside of at the air cap. A loose fluid nozzle does not properly seat in the tip of the spray gun and causes air to enter the fluid supply resulting in spitting.
Why does my Wagner paint sprayer keep clogging?
This can be caused by the air pressure being too weak, which can stop the liquid from atomizing, or due to the liquid being of a type that quickly hardens once in contact with the air. The second form of clogging is due to spray pressure being too high. Liquid can also adhere to the air cap after spraying stops.
Do I need to thin paint for sprayer?
Yes, the latex paint does need to be thinned. Even though latex paint is water-based, it is thicker than the oil-based paint varieties. The thick latex paint needs to be thinned to be able to spray a fine mist of paint. Before applying your paint, it is a good idea to test out the paint’s viscosity.
How long can you leave paint in a Wagner sprayer?
Assuming you’re not spraying epoxy or some other product that is time sensitive, you’re ok to let it sit for just 4 hrs.
